Boost curb appeal. Make sure that trashcans are put away and out of view. Any cars should be relocated or stored inside the garage. Clean up any debris and be sure the lawn is freshly mowed. Hang easy to read house numbers and wash windows.
Have the inside sparkling clean. Clean windows, scrubbed grout and shinning floors, these simple cleaning will put the home in the best light possible.
Clear away the clutter. Store away excess items, toys and furniture away in the garage or offsite storage. This helps to showcase the property and allows the potential buyer to vision their items in the space.
Depersonalize the space. It may be the owners style but it may not be the style of those looking to buy a home. Remove any unnecessary decorative items (Sports team, Figurines, unconventional artwork). Also remove any personal family photos.
Don’t forget the Dinning Room. The Dinning Room is an important room of the home. Don’t leave the table bare. Placing plates and utensils creates a more inviting image.
Lights are important. Replacing burned out lights is one of the easiest way to make a property much more attractive. Go through the property and replace any light bulbs that are not working. Also make sure that all the light bulbs match in both color and brightness.
Remove pet items. While everyone love their pets, not everyone can live with them. Place the pet toys, beds and food away. Be sure that the pets are safety out of sight or at another location while the photos are being taken.
Lights on, fans Off. Turn on all the lights and have the blind open. Rooms that are bright will show an inviting space that someone wants to spend time in. Turn off any fans and be sure the blades are clean.
Show how you can use awkward areas. For rooms under the stairs, nook or alcoves find a unique way to show how it can be used. By setting up a small computer desk, shelving or table with a radio that awkward spot can become a selling point.
Don’t date the pictures. Holiday decorations should be put away until after the photos are finished. Christmas decorations January 2nd gives the impression that the photos are dated and the property isn’t selling.
